There are hundreds of thousands of people that create visual effects and short films. They all showcase their work on the internet, but about 95 percent of those people you never actually see or hear about their work. Do you know why? Because they don’t have any credibility for what they do. Credibility is what sets you apart from the AE fanboy to the person that people ask advice from, watch the new demo reel every time it is updated, and when they see the name they stop for a second and look a little closer. People in the After Effects community for example, are John Dickinson, Aharon Rabinowitz, Harry Frank, and of course Andrew Kramer among tons of others. The thing all these people have in common, are they are knowledgable about what the do, are published in numerous different areas, and all contribute to our niche area of production. I am going to outline a few easy things that you can do yourself to give your name or company a sense of credibility and to possibly standout in the sea of onlookers and artists alike.

Have you ever run into that issue when you import very large images (I’m talking like 10,000 by 10,000 pixels large), and you get image buffer errors, or it takes like a whole minute to draw a frame? Or perhaps you are using the CC Repetile or Motiontile effects to mirror the edges of an already large image so that you can move the 3d camera around, and still have a background for your image, only to find you are still getting huge frame renders and error messages? Well fret no longer my friends… I have a nice little, albeit very “derr… why didn’t I think of that” tip for you all to create some seamless backgrounds without having to worry about frame buffers and that other annoying crap that After Effects likes to throw your way.
http://www.vimeo.com/5824080 If you have ears, read blogs, or have twitter, you will have probably heard that Trapcode Particular version 2.0 has finally hit the virtual shelves. There is a reason why I didn’t write this the day it came out. One, because it was the day before I got married, and two, for the fact I wanted to have something to offer you guys in terms of tutorials and some inspiration to get you working on some cool new stuff to utilize the new features included with this release. There is bound to be an onslaught of tutorials, good and bad, long and short in the coming months with people jumping on the Particular 2.0 bandwagon, but the first tutorials that have been released have really given us some awesome insight to the possibilities with the new features.

We have been getting a LOT of requests from buyers wanting a license to use files in products for resale, so we’ve made one!
The license is called the Single Use Conditional Resale Permitted License ["Conditional Resale"]. You can read about it here:
http://flashden.net/legal/licences
Right now every author is automatically opted-out, so you will need to opt in if you wish to sell your files under this licence (see instructions below).
The Conditional Resale license allows a file to be used in an item for resale, and it’s priced at 50 times the cost of a standard single use license.
So for instance, you could buy this license if you wanted to:
1. Put a GraphicRiver graphic on a t-shirt for sale in a store.
2. Put a FlashDen preloader into a Flash theme for sale.
3. Put a VideoHive video and an AudioJungle loop into software that would allow people to make their own custom video with music.
4. Put a ThemeForest theme into software that would allow people to create intranets.
How Do I Opt-In?
If you wish to offer your file under this license, all you need to do is:
1. Go to your Account page.
2. Go the the Edit tab.
3. Click on Item Licenses.
4. Click the boxes next to the license name to opt-in.
5. Press Save!
If you have any questions support will be happy to answer them!
Scripts are a very useful addition to After Effects, and can really open up some possibilities and avenues that you never thought of. Some scripts help do little tasks and save a minute of your time, and some can be used as dockable palettes to enhance other functions, such as unlocking the possibilities of Mocha and the other motion trackers. Hounding the interwebs every single day, I have found a bunch of websites that provide scripts, as well as tutorials on how to use them effectively.

Everyone please join me in congratulating YoCreative for being VideoHive’s featured author!
YoCreative comes from Brazil and has been with VideoHive since April 2008.
YoCreative, is one of those authors that excites me when I see a new submission from him. I thoroughly enjoy reviewing his files, because he nails every step of the process, and allows me to sit back and enjoy the show. The camera moves, graphic quality, time line, and even organizational methods are outstanding. Everything he submits is broadcast quality and I would not be shocked if I saw some of his work being used by national television channels.
Here are a few stand out files. But be sure to check out YoCreative’s full portfolio!

Plamencvetanov comes from Bulgaria and has been with VideoHive since April 2009.
Plamencvetanov has quite the impressive portfolio. Whats most surprising is how many good items this author has up for grabs, and the selection is rapidly increasing. He submits files regularly and you would think quality would be something hard to maintain when you pump out files like they come from an assembly line. I urge you to check them all out and try to find one thats not crafted with quality in mind. Great selection, of great files.
Here are a few stand out files. But be sure to check out Plamencvetanov’s full portfolio!

Everyone please join me in congratulating D3luxxxe for being VideoHive’s featured author!
D3luxxxe comes from Serbia and has been with VideoHive since May 2009.
The quality here is impeccable. Specializing in mostly project files, his portfolio is filled with high quality files that don’t just look good, but serve a purpose. One thing that’s often overlooked in stock files, is the thought of how usable that file truly is. D3luxxxe’s files tend to offer something something out of the box, something that just stands out. For this reason, D3luxxxe was featured.
Here are a few stand out files. But be sure to check out D3luxxxe’s full portfolio!
